As we each snuggle into the warmth that this time of year brings, I am drawn to reflect on the phenomenal healing power of the horse. This year has been no exception as the horses have worked their magic with individuals, leaders and teams. I continue to be in awe of what each horse brings to each person, just knowing the right thing to “say” and do. I am also aware of the importance for our horses to have time to “go back to grazing”.
Just like a 2-legged facilitator, the horses need a rest. They need the time to just be a herd, to just be a horse (is there anything such thing!), and to recharge their batteries. They are wondrous in their ability to make visible that which is so personal to each human who comes through our gate. Whether it is a widow grieving her loss, or a leader challenged by the unending and always ambiguous change they are being asked to implement, the horses step up, and sometimes step on the root of the issue.
This year our learning theme has focused on Compassionate Leadership, and the evolution of how we are building community, both for ourselves and with each other. Building community within ourselves means that ability to listen at a deeper level for that which wants to grow, learn and transform. We need to do this individually and make it a committed practice so that others will most naturally feel it from us, and be able to share in it.
As we move towards the end of 2016 and into the beginning of 2017, let us join together in a world filled with uncertainty and turbulence, and know that which is certain, that which is peaceful. Let us celebrate that whic h is ending for us so that we can welcome new beginnings!
As always my love is with you, wishing you and yours an absolutely beautiful Christmas season!
Deepest Blessings,
Linda-Ann and the Unbridling Herd
